Cow families are important at D&E Jerseys. Over the years, we have selectively purchased top quality foundation cows, developed our own maternal lines and used the breed's leading JPI sires, with emphasis on functional type and profitable production.

"Lyra" was fresh in December with an "Abe" heifer. She gave 90.6 lbs. milk on her first test and will be flushed this lactation to BW Carrier-ET and "Jevon." She has an "Abe" son at Jerseyland Sires and another at Semex.

"Lyra" was purchased at the 2005 New England Spring Sale.

"Poem" is due in December to "Echo" with a contract to Jerseyland Sires. She was purchased at the 2005 All American Jersey Sale.

The matriarch of this exceptional family is the Excellent-94% Marv Du Berretta Red Wing, with more than 22,900M, 920F and 840P.

"Little Beaver's" son, D&E Rebel Scholar-ET, was syndicated at the 2005 All American Jersey Sale and will be made available through Alta/Jerseyland Sires.

We purchased "Yellow Wing" at the 1999 All American Jersey Sale. In addition to "Little Beaver," she has two other Excellent maternal sisters and four Very Good maternal sisters with records to 26,940M, 674F and 955P.

We have seven of her daughters, sired by "Freedom," "Rueben," "Super Taco" and "Dunkirk."
